We had such a fun-filled Easter weekend!
On Saturday, A and I (along with the rest of Stillwater!) went with Ricki to the Stillwater Arts Festival. It was 85 degrees and sunny. Baby A's favorite parts were seeing all the puppies that people brought (including a Chinese crested whose tufts of hair were dyed purple!) and eating frozen lemonade.
I know it was crazy, but we also attempted to dye eggs. I am really practicing just being and allowing A to take the lead and do what she wants. This was an excellent exercise for that. Especially since she decided that playing in the colored water was far more fun and she would get mad at eggs in any of the cups.
We used unsweetened Kool-aid to dye our eggs.
She wanted to sample it (this was prior to an egg being dipped in the red!). While my instinct was to stop her, I realized that it would be better to just let her do it.
She definitely thought it was sour!
She had so much fun.
Our eggs were not particularly exciting but that's okay.
I couldn't wait for her to go to sleep that night because I was really excited to put her basket together.
She keyed in immediately only the marshmallow peeps ("kookchies"--everything is a cookie these days).
For breakfast we had special Easter bunny pancakes.
I also made sugar cookie nests for dessert later that day. They were super yummy!
We went on an egg hunt with cousin Avery after Easter dinner.
So A just took her entire basket. Fair is fair. ;)
She clearly didn't know the goodness inside those little foil wrappers as she kept giving Daddy all of the candy inside the eggs (though she stuffed all the goldfish in her mouth as quickly as she could open the eggs!).
Her curls are just killing me.
And so are her cankles.
