Days 21-23 Christmas Eve eve, eve, and eve

Thursday was A's last day of school before winter break. They had pajama day and a Santa Sing a Long at school assembly, which was really cute.

We had to go to Tulsa on Friday for her quarterly pulmonology appointment. She played with her holiday sticker books.

On Saturday, we had a lot of fun stuff to do. We exchanged our library books and wrapped presents.

Then we worked on Christmas tree cones and *finally* finished the gingerbread house.

For dinner we did the Snowman Breakfast, which is always a hit.

I cannot believe that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!

Days 14-20

We have been doing some fun things over the last week to keep us busy but oh my goodness!! Christmas has just really snuck up on me. Tomorrow is A's last day of school and I do not feel ready for this at all!

We listened to a call from Santa:

A's drawing of her concern that Santa might burn his booty. She drew a wet blanket, in case he needs it.
 School Grinch Day

We also gathered things for the gifts for teachers, administrators, and after care workers.

And made some themed snacks for school Monday.

She's making a list. Checking it twice.
A decorated all of the gingerbread cookies.

We saw Santa for milk & cookies.

And had a school Christmas party.

We received a letter back from Santa (see the joy...)

Days 11-13

Things have been extremely busy this week with student admissions, finals, grading, reports, and other responsibilities. But we're still trying to find times to be kind and to have fun.

On Monday we made paper snowflakes.

On Tuesday, A had to dress in her most "dashing duds"

Today we worked on special treats for me to take to our holiday party tomorrow.

Day 10--Mrs. Clause: An unsung hero

Mrs. Clause is totally underrated. I have a lot of opinions about the amount of work she must put in behind the scenes. So it's only fitting that we finally go to a holiday event centered around her. And wouldn't you know it? Rather than just spending a 15 second photo op with each kid, guarded by elves, Mrs. Clause took her time, read a story, sang a song, and individually talked to each child there before offering to take photos. Way to go, Wonder Woman. I see you.

So clearly today we spent some time with Mrs. Clause. Our local children's museum had a fun event that we have been meaning to attend for the last couple of years but it just never worked out. I am glad we got to go today!

The set up for Mrs. Clause was great and she was really fantastic.

The kids were super excited they got to decorate and eat cupcakes.
