Happy belated birthday

Things have been pretty busy in the last two weeks so I know that I am behind in posting from A's actual birthday! We started the day with birthday balloons, presents from Mommy and Daddy, and special pancakes.

There was also lots of A singing to herself.

This year we had a fun party at the Stillwater Multi-Arts Center where the kids painted and then got to decorate a cupcake. Alaina had 20 friends (and their parents) who came to celebrate with her. I was a little nervous how it would go with so many toddlers (and paint!!) but it really was not as bad as I expected. And most of the kids seemed to be having fun. They were amazingly patient while they waited for everything to be set up.

The kids painted for about 30-45 minutes before most everyone was finished and starting to get restless.

I was excited to repurpose one of A's paintings for her party

So then we went to decorate cupcakes. And by decorate, I mostly mean that the kids dumped sprinkles on their plates and ate spoonfuls of frosting.

Then we lit a candle and sang happy birthday to A (with a non-toddler decorated cupcake). This was her favorite part of the whole day as she continues to talk about her friends coming to her party and singing before she blew out the candle.

She loved opening presents with her friends.

After the party was over, she got to run around outside the center. She almost gave us a heart attack as she sped off before we could even tell her no.

After the party, we went to dinner with family. We were all tired but it was still so much fun.
