New room, new pool, new slide!

We finally finished A's room. She is super excited to share it with everyone. It's the first thing she wants to do when anyone comes to visit.

Here are some 'behind the scenes' looks.

When I first decided how to change A's room, I knew her purple elephant hair bow holder wouldn't work any more. I couldn't find anything I loved on Etsy so a friend suggested we make our own. Because I know A loves to paint, this was a fun idea.

I had ordered a vinyl decal with A's name on it but well, we will just say that didn't work out so well. I have marked this down in my book of things that other people seem to do without a problem that just don't work out for me.

Yes, in some universe, this would look like her name.
So we had to come up with an alternative. Since our hair bow holder creation turned out pretty well, I thought we would try painting canvas again. This time we taped over it with letters of her name and then I painted over that so it had the colors of her name underneath.

One of my graduate student's husbands made this amazing dress up station. I think Chad and I love it even more than A. I have added the link to the site in case anyone is crafty and wants to make it.

Beyond the room, we also got our first baby pool and had fun with cousin A today!

And Avery was sweet enough to give A her slide. She is super excited!

I also took A to an Insect Adventure yesterday where she got up close and personal with a lot of fun bugs.
